Situated on the southwest coast of Cyprus, approximately 10 miles north of Paphos town, one will find the two small villages of Chloraka and Kissonerga. The area in which these two charming villages are located is surrounded by countless pomegranate and banana plantations. The bananas produced, however, are not fit for exportation due to not complying with EU criteria.
Both villages possess the traditional village church, Panaagia Chryseleousa in Chloraka, and The Church of the Transfiguration in Kissonerga. A small selection of amenities such as a bank, few shops, and restautrants can also be found in each village.
An extraordinary settlement has recently been discovered just north of Kissonerga, and is still under excavation. It is believed the settlement was of Chalcolithic culture, present in Paphos between 3500 to 2500BC. An array of artefacts, such as ancient pottery and clay figurines, has been uncovered so far.
